Week of December 14th & 21st

 Hi Everyone!

The members of student council created a special dress up days for December 21st and 22nd!

Upcoming Events:
December 15th: Pajama Day! Virtual Family Night (6pm - 7pm)

December 18th: Unit 3 math test (review and answers coming soon.)

December 21st: Wear Comfortable clothes. Bring a stuffed animal/blanket.

December 22nd: Last Day of school for 2020. Wear Red and Green. We will have a small celebration this day, your child can bring some cookies and a drink to enjoy during a whole class movie. We will be watching the Illuminations version of the Grinch. Let me know if you would prefer your child doesn't watch the movie with our class.

Curriculum Update:
Reading: We are going to wrap up our reading unit over the next two weeks. We will be looking for themes in our books and then comparing them to books or movies we have seen.

Next, we will be learning about wars that shaped America.

Writing: We will be writing two more essays this week. One about theme and one comparing a theme/character to another. We also have a school-wide writing challenge, where we will be tracking the number of pages we write a day! Stay tuned

Next, we will be writing Historical Fiction Stories

Math: We will be working hard to get a strong handle on division this week. The review is coming home Monday, here are the answers. Feel free to ask me questions or send back the review, marking the problems your child needed help with!

Our next unit will be measurement.

Word Study: We are in Unit 6! Unit 6 focuses on open syllables and the open syllable exceptions.

Thank You

It's hard to put into words how bittersweet the end of the school year is. It has truly been an honor to teach this group of fourth grad...
